Many movies are good, some are great, but only a select few can be called truly "essential." After heated discussions, long negotiations, and a shouting match or two, the staff at Yahoo! So, I've been watching Felicity on DVD. Remember that show? Wow, I forgot how good it was. I'm pretty much in love with Season 4... and obsessed with Ben-jameen. What happened to TV like this? I miss Roswell. I miss old Prison Break. I really hate TV now. It blows.

Did anyone watch? I'm not sure what to make of it.

Is Terminator: SCC on the ropes? Rumours are buzzing about Production being shut down soon. What? C'mon... I was just starting to get into it.

Prison Break isn't doing all that hot either.

It's difficult to find a positive spin for Fox's Monday offerings. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Prison Break, both of which premiered early in September, each nabbed an identical 5.3 million viewers last night (Monday). That number is well below the shows' '07-'08 averages, 9.8 million and 7.5 million, respectively. What's more, each episode of Prison Break this season has been rated lower than the one that came before it.

Meanwhile, my new shows Fringe (10 million) & The Mentalist (15.3 million) are doing very well.

Fox won the second Tuesday of the television season among young adults behind its combo of House and Fringe which were both up a bit week to week...

Unfortunately, next week The Mentalist gets bumped for the 2nd Presidential Debate. Simon returns October 7th. Fringe is being bumped till October 14. Do we have baseball to thank for that? Ironically, that's the day of the Canadian Federal election. Yeah, we're having one... have you heard? You probably haven't, and this explains why.

Can someone tell me who is watching NCIS (17.2 million)?

So, I'm in luck. The Mentalist is being carried by another Canadian channel on Mondays at 10. I can watch it right after Terminator & Prison Break. That leaves Tuesday free and clear for House & Fringe. I love it when the TV gods work things out for me. I won't be watching Heroes anymore. The premiere was less than impressive. I can't believe that show has fallen so far.

I've tried to remain as spoiler-free as I possibly can. (Pretty difficult while compiling the newsletter). Regardless, I'm excited to see how this season unfolds. I've missed my boys. I'd like to see a few more smiles on Michael's face starting tonight. I think it will happen (nudge, Sara, nudge). I'm sure there'll be some interesting post episode discussion. I'll make sure to pop back on the net later. I hope some of you are around. Oh, man I've been dying for fresh new screencaps. Yay, another reason to be excited. I've exhausted S1 & S2.

It's been a quiet Labour Day overall. Watched Batman Begins, then Spiderman 2, and now War Of The Worlds... with a bit of US Open tennis mixed in occasionally.

The Olympics start tomorrow. Wow, that came around quickly. I vivdly remember the day Toronto lost in the Olympic bidding to Beijing, and now here we are. I will get hooked in quickly, as I always do. Mainly, to watch the track and pool events... plus tennis, soccer, basketball & rhythmic gymnastics. Hey, no ping pong at these games. What's up with that? That was mad excitement. ;)

16 Emmy nominations for Mad Men. And, deservedly so. Though, I am a bit disappointed that none of the women on the show were nominated, namely Christina Hendricks.

I finally watched Heroes S2, and I was less than moved by it. I loved the Claire moments, but there wasn't enough Sylar, and WAY too much Matt. Hiro's arc bored me to tears. The new characters were... boring.

New shows I'm excited about this fall: 90210 (oldies vs. newbies), The Mentalist (Veronica's back) & Fringe (Pacey's back)!
